SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS:       CONSERVE AND SUSTAINABLY USE THE OCEANS, SEAS, AND MARINE RESOURCES FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT Can you picture a world without oceans to explore and swim in?  The ocean is a diversified habitat home to numerous types of creatures. From the tiniest shrimp to the massive blue whale, ocean is a home for them. It is also vital to our life survival as they provide us with water, food, and regulate weather.  Ocean employs more than 3 billion people who rely on marine biodiversity for a living. If we do not stop polluting our oceans, severe problems will arise and affect every human and living creature on the earth. Pollution poses the greatest threat to our planet and future generations' lives. According to the United Nations, an estimated 5 to 12 million metric tons of plastic enter the ocean each year. Carbon emissions produced by human activities, like driving cars, are also contributing to ocean's warming and water acidity's rising. T

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS:   TAKE URGENT ACTION TO COMBAT CLIMATE CHANGE AND ITS IMPACTS According to United Nations, coal, oil and gas are by far the largest contributor to global climate change, accounting for over 75% of global greenhouse gas emissions and nearly 90% of all carbon dioxide emissions. United Nations also stated that until today the rising global temperatures still continue unabated and lead to more extreme weather. The world is now warming faster than at any point in recorded history. Warmer temperatures over time are changing weather patterns and disrupting the usual balance of nature. This poses many risks to human beings and all other forms of life on Earth. Here, I want to share some of its causes : Powering buildings : Residential and commercial buildings consume more than half of all electricity worldwide. As they continue to rely on coal, oil, and natural gas for heating and cooling, they continually produce big amounts of greenhouse gas emissions.  Usin

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS:     ENSURE ACCESS TO AFFORDABLE, RELIABLE, SUSTAINABLE, AND MODERN ENERGY FOR ALL The way we use energy matters.  Today, l et's talk about the seventh goal! As we are familiar, energy is defined as the capacity of doing work or the strength and vitality required for sustained physical or mental activity. However, some people are still clueless about affordable energy. To begin, when we talk about affordable energy , we mean ensuring that everyone on the planet has access to adequate energy services regardless of their status and where being. The less developed a country is, the less energy it can afford. As a result, if every government strives to develop and strengthen the country's energy access for all individuals, it can aid in improving the country's economy and eradicating poverty. For many decades, fossil fuels such as coal, oil, or gas have been major sources of electricity production.  According to United Nations, 2.4 billion pe

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS: ENSURE AVAILABILITY AND SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF WATER AND SANITATION FOR ALL According to United Nations, at current rates, 1.6 billion people will lack safely managed drinking water, 2.8 billion people will lack safely managed sanitation, and 1.9 billion people will lack basic hand hygiene facilities. We can also recognize this problem as water scarcity which known as a rising global issue in today's world.  Water scarcity is described as a shortage of sufficient, clean drinking water that is accessible to humans and animals in a specific area.  Here are some of its factors : Flood Drought Deforestation Climate change Poor water management Increased world population Changed consumption pattern The United Nations states that having free access to clean water is a basic right for every human being. Losing the chance to hav e decent water for daily living life may be harmful and hazardous to an individual's life and health. Drinking contaminat

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS:   ACHIEVE GENDER EQUALITY AND EMPOWER ALL WOMEN AND GIRLS  Today, I'm going to share about the  fifth goal  of SDG.  Let's get to it! According to Cambridge Dictionar y, gender equality is the act of treating women and men equally , or simply we can say that  all individuals receive the same opportunities for privilege and rights regardless of their gender.   That means everyone must be treated with  dignity and  respect in all aspects of their lives. The historical status of women has given rise to the fight for gender equality concerning women having the same rights as men. According to United Nations, it would take another 40 years for women and men to be presented equally in national political leadership at the current pace. Up until 2022, women only got 26.2% shares in national parliaments. The following are some of the other  causes of the fights: Women earn less money (salary) than men for the same job. Stereotypes of women as mothe

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS:   ENSURE INCLUSIVE AND EQUITABLE QUALITY EDUCATION AND PROMOTE LIFELONG LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL  This is the fourth goal of the SDGs. Let's delve into this topic deeper. According to Cambridge Dictionar y, education is the process of teaching and learning or simply we can say a process that helps and gives people access to knowledge. Education allows us to have a better understanding of our community's values and culture. Education also assists individuals in building their social skills and getting the necessary training to perform different jobs and skills. All these things make quality education extremely crucial for a fulfilling and independent life. That is why it is a basic right for every child, adolescent, and adult all over the world.  This goal focuses on ensuring this right is respected and implemented so that every person in the world got an opportunity to access education. United Nations stated that 147 million children m

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS: ENSURE HEALTHY LIVES AND PROMOTE WELL-BEING FOR ALL AT ALL AGES  As you can see from the title above, today let's  take a look at the third goal of SDGs. Providing a healthy lifestyle and well-being for all people is essential for sustainable development. According to United Nations, Covid-19 has disrupted basic health services in 92% of countries and slowed the progress of universal health coverage, resulting in 15 million fatalities. Many improvements and advances in recent decades have extended the life expectancy of people, but there is still other work to be done in order to end diseases , develop cures, and provide access to an adequate healthcare system for all. The number of moms who died during childbirth remains a major concern in developing countries. According to World Health Organization, every day in 2020, almost 800 women died from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth. Maternal death also occurred nearly every tw
